For those who don't know, Ruben and myself from howies, Alistair and Hazel are taking on the Strathpuffer in January. It's something i've wanted to do for years and finally now I'm going to have a crack at it. Now the Puffer is known for snow, being north of Inverness and in mid-January, so you might think that all the snow the UK has been having would be great, lots of snow riding practice.
Unfortunately Cardigan doesn't really do snow, all we've had are some tough frosts and some impressive ice. In fact Hazel, who's down in Cornwall has managed to find way more than we have.
So if that sounds like I'm making excuses, you're completely right, and there will be more I promise, just starting nice and early.
