Sofia Hagberg co founder of 'End of the Road' music festival will be coming along to tell us her stories of how she turned her dream festival into a reality. She will be sharing with us her reasons for doing it, where her ideas came from, how it got off the ground, the high and low's and all the behind the scenes happenings of a festival that you normally never get to hear about, it's going to be a really interesting talk. (click on the 'End of the Road' link above to find out more about the festival).
if you would like to come along for a drink and a listen then please email us at [email protected] or give us a ring on 02072872345 and reserve you seat.
the talk will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday 20th July here at the shop and we will be supplying the usual range of beer and juices so go don't go home after work, bring your friends and come join us!
Here at Carnaby Street the offical favourite animal is the dog.. but my personal favourite has always been the bear. There are quite a few bear themed things in my life.. Grizzly Bear, Polar Bear and Panda Bear are all lovely bands and my favourite t-shirt which has a bear on the front.. and now I have a new bear themed goodie to add to the list! Healthy snack enthusiasts BEAR are a great company specialising in natural dried fruity granolaie nibbles... yum (thanks to Gavin who dropped by the shop and let us taste test the products). Today they have earned my respect even more as they took to Westminster in search of Health Secretary Andrew Lansley to growl about his cuts to Government funded healthy eating initiatives (AND if that isn't enough to earn your respect please BEAR in mind that it is a hot hot day here in London and there is a fully furred guy running around in a bear suit for the cause.. kudos!). If you want to pop your name on their petition visit wearebear.co.uk .
I also drew some pictures of bears in support of the cause....
Unfortunately over here in Carnaby Street we are in the same boat as Bristol, after a year of service, Emma, our visual merchandising superstar and crocheting machine will be leaving us behind and moving back to sunny Brighton, so we are currently looking for a new full time supervisor.
If you think you are able to fill these considerably sized boots, have knowledge and share a passion for our brand, enjoy interacting with customers, make a good cup of tea, ride a bike and are able to identify at least 10 different breeds of dog then get in touch.
Send us an email to [email protected] or a letter to howies, 42 Carnaby Street, London W1F 7DY and tell us a bit about yourselves. Feel free to include a CV but we'd much rather hear about your interests, hobbies, passions and what you feel you can add to our store.
We look forward to hearing from you!
for the month of June the Carnaby Street gallery will be playing host to the work of photographer Jack Symes. now based in london but hailing from chester, his work is based around skateboarding, bike riding, good times and attempting to fill his spare days with as many adventures and interesting things that he could find.
come down and have a look at his results.
Jack studied photographic arts at the university of westminster and is currently looking for work based around his experience.
So we have 20% off all items in-store this bank holiday weekend. We thought we'd have a dig around the stock room to look out old t-shirts of the week and store exclusive t-shirts from the past few months. Get down here while stocks last...this may be your last chance!
Tomorrow is forecast to rain...but Sunday and Monday we can expect to rock out in the sunshine. Enjoy the long weekend :)
