its Autumn but...

  • Posted by howies

I know its september and its that time to dig out your old woolies and warm jackets but I just wanted to say before it really does get cold that the sea is really lovely and warm.

If you get chance, whether its swimming or kayaking or just having a paddle, this is the best time of year to be in the sea.

I went for a surf yesterday and it was like bobbing around in a warm bath, I would advise on a summer wetuit for the full on warm effect but even so its still pretty good without a wetsuit.

Don't forget, it'll be cold, windy, icy cold raining and threatening snow before you know it so make the most of it.

Just a quick reminder about this Friday's bike show at the Bristol shop. So far its looking amazing every space is going to be filled to the brim with bike art and photography! As you can see from the picture we had a bit of trouble fitting it all in the car!

From Bike chandeliers to custom painted tall bikes there will be something for everyone. What better way to finish the week then with a beer surrounded by two wheeled wonders. 7 till 10 at the Bristol howies store, see you there

cheers then Matt/45

Begging for a borrowed tent

Good Afternoon,

Does anyone have an old tent we can borrow for a prop for our Spring Summer 2011 photo shoot (taking place the week beginning 27 Sept) - you know the one, a proper vintage looking tent (we don’t really want any of this new fangled pop up......) maybe parents / grandparents might have one knocking around the shed/attic.

If you can email me: [email protected] or millie: [email protected] I would really appreciate it.

We'd pay carriage and look after it I promise

Oooh and I just thought, if you do find one, can you please throw a piccie my way too so we can have a look see
thanks........again :-)

Me again, its now Monday and firstly a big thank-you to everyone who has contacted me and Millie. We had so many offers, you are all so kind, If we need to borrow your tent, we will be in touch this week. Thanks. Lis ;-)

Blog Worthy Bakery

Let me set the scene.

I was sitting at my desk getting on with my work and Hollie walks by from the kitchen with a cup of tea for me.  Lovely!

Next thing I know Robin puts a big box down on my desk saying F.A.O Lydia.

I have a look inside and I find these four perfectly crafted cup cakes all the way from the London Humming Bird Bakery.

Thank you guys at the Carnaby store! A perfect accompaniment  to my brew.

I'm logging my phone off for 5 minutes while I stuff my face. Do not disturb. Thanks!

Lydia loves the sloucher tee,  its our new super soft and silky merino t-shirt.

You see its not just merino, it has merino knitted on the ouside and Modal on the inside next to your skin.

The Modal feels like silk and has very similar properties to merino, antibacterial, moisture wicking and temperature regulating.

Its made from beech trees and the whole manufacturing process of the fibre is fantastic, its very clean with no harmful waste products, it doesn't use tons of water like the old fashioned cellulosic fibre, the trees are grown sustainably and the final fibre is biodegradable.

So if you have sensitive skin and find the merino itchy, this could be for you.

Lydia said she isn't going to take it off, good job its merino modal and non smelly.

September has only just began and...

the car parks are empty

the beaches are quiet

there are no queues in the supermarket or coffee shop

the mornings are clear & crisp

the berries are bursting out of the hedgerows

the evenings are drawing in

there's a nip in the air before the sun goes down

jumpers are coming out of storage for snuggling into

there's some surf on its way

hurray hurray hurray I love september

Lunchtime escape into the Wild

Sometimes you forget to get out and breathe when you get into the daily 8-5 and when this is on the doorstep it's easy to take it for granted, so I decided to take time out to enjoy the wonderful September sun before we start knocking on Autumns door.

Forget the usual hustle and bustle, this is lunchtime Cardi style and all I had to dodge were butterflies, dragonflies and one or two binocular toting Twitchers round the wildlife park.
