reality tv?...

...well it's never really got me going.  When Big Brother is on I don't even want to hear the theme music...I'm flicking that channel straight away.

However my mind may be changing.  There is a new reality TV show due to launch on the internet, following the winter season of phenominal Finnish pro-snowboarder Eero Ettala.  He made a name for himself at the Air & Style competition in 2007, with a double cork 1080.  He has also had some amazing spots on each seasons big DVD releases (including Follow Me Around, Lost in Transition and Picture This...to name but a few).

So the Oakley team manager approached him this year, with this concept of producing this web TV show.  The theme is to follow him travelling the globe, riding new places and documenting it.  Check out the web link for Tracking Eero.

On press

Last week i managed to go see our upcoming Autumn catalogue on press. It was real nice seeing what happens with your work after you've handed it over, all the processes it goes through and the equipment used. Their big press can do 40,000 prints an hour. Crazy fast. So here's some pics...

Above is the machine that feeds the paper through into these printers...

Out of shot is another set of six, where one side of the sheet is printed on before turning over and going through this set. End result being this...

To see the rest you'll have to wait til September.

Nice.

Bring it on!

It's a beautiful sunny day, but Ben and I can't help but talk about this coming winter.  Firstly, because we're sorting out all our summer sale stock in store, and excited about the new collection coming up (of course!).  But the main reason is that we are pining for snow.  I'm considering getting up to the new snowdome at Hemel...for a little fix.  However nothing compares to the real thing obviously!  I'm mulling over where to go this winter, and dreaming of improving my skillls...hopefully this winter I can finally get over some stupid fears and charge it!

Anyway the new Absinthe snowboard movie trailer "Neverland" has been released; and maybe if your thoughts weren't drifting towards the snow, on a sunny day such as this...well now they will.

Although the weather is glorious at the moment, my thoughts have been waining towards this coming winter.  There are lots of ski and snowboard movie teasers being released for 09/10 online at the moment.  Infact more and more are being uploaded by the day.  But they is one in particular that caught my eye...

They Came From 3D

Just when you thought you couldn't get any more stoked when you watched movies of your favorite riders pulling off immense tricks; Factor films (a snowboard movie production company) are due to release They Came From this autumn- in 3D!!!  I watched the teaser trailer (without 3D specks unfortunately) and it looks amazing.
