A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited on a small relaxed trip to Bundoran on the North West coast of Ireland, the premise was to get a group of like minded surfers and loads of different types of boards and have some fun. Well it worked, Tom Wegener and his family came with their finless wonders and John Issac and the Revolver surf shop gang, revolversurf came over with a weird and wonderful selection of boards the best being the finless foam board found in a skip by Jimbo! It was also great to finally meet James and Elsie face to face and be witness to there fantastic style on their surfboards. Thanks also to Toby and Dai who kept me company and made laugh on the twelve hour journey to get there.

Thanks to everyone on the trip for making such fun times, the only problem is all I want to do now is go surfing. Thank god for winter storms.

Day Off

my old bikeManobier 4weeks ago

Had a day off yesterday to go for a surf, haven't been in for 4 weeks! This is a shot from last time I went in, unfortunately wasn't quite this good yesterday but was still worth going in. Then I went to see John at Tenby cycles and bullied him into finally start putting my bike back together. Should be finished today, its made out of pretty much found bits and a crappy old bike frame which I stripped, painted and then stripped again due to contaminating the paint with some waxy fingers. In the end I took the easy route and  just lacquered it, turned out surprisingly well.

Look out for Clay Marzo

This awesome story appeared in the Independent over the weekend.  Clay Marzo is about to turn the surfing world on it's head with his fearless style and natural ability.

The clarity of mind that he possess in a wave is in stark contrast to his difficulties when on dry land.  Clay was diagnosed with Asperger's a couple of years ago and, as a result, he finds social interaction difficult.  However, some believe that his condition may partially help to give him an edge in the water due to his ability to predict how a particular wave will break.

His story is captured in a new film, which goes onto itunes next month, called Just Add Water.
