Bristol Sample Sale

  • Posted by ruben
  • 15 February 2010

Good news for you lovely Bristolians, we are coming to hold one of our legendary sample sales later this week.

Naomi is out in the back warehouse right now getting the clothes sorted out and packed up.

Once that's done and we fix a small windscreen wiper problem, Simon will be driving the big black van down to the Bristol shop on Thursday.

There will be the usual collection of great end of line items along with a few amazing one-off samples (some in odd colours) that we never put into production, some otherwise brilliant stuff with dodgy buttons and plenty of other t-shirts and things at bargain prices.

Definitely worth a look if you're in the area.

The sale will be held upstairs in the shop - here's the address and opening times -

62 Queens Road
(map here)

Opening times:

Thursday  18th - 4pm til 8pm
Friday 19th - 9.30am - 6pm
Saturday 20th - 9.30am - 6pm
Sunday 21st - 11am - 5 pm

Bring a bag, 'cause as usual, we wont have any.

Hope to see you there.

All we'll say is keep an eye out for the Spring catalogue.

If you check the back of our catalogues you'll find a list of all the talented people that have contributed to our t-shirt collection. One name that keeps cropping up is Andy J Miller. The first tee he designed for us was 'Work to Live' back in the Spring 09 catalogue. Since then he's consistently pulled out the goods and produced some great tees for us, including 'Books is Power'. He's a great illustrator and a splendid chap to work with.

Here's an interview he's just done for Sticks & Stones Magazine.

This month's T-shirt of the Month is 'Allotment Envy' by Nic Saunders

Lettuce pray...
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's carrots.
Nor shall you begrudge him his beans,
or resent his rhubarb.
Thou shalt not turn up your nose at his turnips,
or aspire to his asparagus.
Thou shalt not long for his leeks
Nor shall you pursue his parsnips
or object to his onions

Thou shalt not feel green for his greens.

T-shirts in stock

The Printshop have had a mad week getting all our T-shirts back in stock to catch up with the Christmas rush.

So if you head over to our T-shirt pages you'll find full size sets of nearly everything.

Here for mens. Here for womens

December’s Archive T-shirt of the Month is ‘Avoid The Bull’, from way back in 2001.

We don't believe in bull.
We tell it straight.
To the point, no messing.
So, this is a t-shirt with a print of a bull on it.
He is standing on a mound.
It has the words 'avoiding the bull since 95' on it.

See? No bull.
Olé to that.

Available in Brown for men & True Red for women.

Ras ipod covers on their way

  • Posted by howies
  • 6 December 2009

I have been asked to make more ipod covers for howies, as they have gone down really well in store and online.

So now I am furiously crocheting away at every spare moment I get.  The colours they will be available in are black, brown, breton blue, electric blue, teal, red, hot pink; and possibly lime and yellow (I'm currently hunting down more wool from my supplier).

Hopefully a limited number should be available online by next week.  In the mean time I will be...mostly crocheting! crochet

Log off, go ride

The current t-shirt of the month is 'Log Off'

It's been selling so well that we've run out of the men's breton blue blanks that we were printing it on.

Don't worry, though - we've switched it over to another colour, and you can now get the design on pine tees for men.

The women's version is still available on the blue, click here for the women's  tee

Our shops are preparing for the colder weather and so we have a delightful little offer running this month.

Our friends at Burt's Bees have kindly helped us out, and we will be giving away a free tube of their Beeswax Lip Balm with every purchase made in our Bristol and Carnaby shops between the 7th and the 24th of December.

Perfect for avoiding chapped lips.
