Here's what they have to say.........
New Album Footage
Super Furry Animals are never ones to stay still creatively, and with their forthcoming (currently untitled) 9th studio album they have decided to document the process on 4 individual hand held cameras. But this will be no ordinary 'the making of the album' story; it's a series of Warhol like observations, of a band putting the finishing touches to songs, a celebration of the banal nature of the mixing process. Whole chunks of time seem to vanish at twice the speed over a slow game of darts or the making of a cup of tea as a song is played on repeat 26 times on the mixing console.
Inspired by Mike Figgis's ground breaking film 'Time Code' the episodes will be released in 21 individual episodes starting on the 23rd February, 8p.m.GMT through the bands own website.
The Bristol Barney Bubbles do went off nicely and that had a lot to do with the tunes that were played after Paul Gorman's great talk about his book and a great slide show of Barney's artwork.
Caz DJ'd the night for us and i asked for a set list as it was quite a stormer. I've posted it below. We still have a few of Pauls books left in the shop but they're going fast. If you have an interest in graphic design and art then you really need to check it out as Barney was a true pioneer. Paul has a blog here about him.
The incredible thing about the music that was played is that Barney designed their artwork and in some cases made their videos as well. The word genius would not be lost on this man.
Caz's tunes from the evening.
