One giant leap

So here's our new website. We are very proud of it.

We had been trying to get a new one for 3 years because technology keeps moving on, and now we have.

The clever stuff its built on will allow us to do all the things we dreamed up but never could with the old site.  Now we can keep on keeping on.

And it's not just a new website, but every single system we use to run our business has been replaced at the same time.

Todays launch is stage one of our roll out, and we know that no matter how much debugging we've done before go live, you will find bugs.

You debuggers are good at that.

If you spot something that is goofy then let us know at [email protected] and we will sort it and send you a thank you to say it's been done. Tweaks are good.

This new site will always be in beta.

Beach to Border

Rob Penn came to cardigan a couple of weeks ago to ride from Cardigan to the Hay Festival to talk about his book.

I was too busy to go all the way, but had a great ride through the lanes here to a pub at the end of the day.

His mantra of slow, back lane, no traffic, laughter, lying in hedge rows, eat well and earning your beer was exactly what it was.

He wrote about it in the Observer yesterday. Have a read here.

Below are the shots that sum the day up for me.

Bike cave!

Thought I'd share with you the pictures of an Aladdin's cave I stumbled across on an industrial estate in Cheddar. My Dad had spotted it so we thought we would have a quick ride over there, never in my wildest dreams did I expect to find what I did. A bike mountain! there are new bikes added to the pile every week so you never know what you are going to find when you turn up. From racers to mountain bikes he has it all. There are no bargains as he is on the ball with prices, but its worth it just to have a chat and geek out. That's your Sunday sorted...

Bit of weather on the way we hear

"Never judge the day on the morning".
That's what my next door neighbour Dyllis said to me today.
And, according to the weathermen, she's right.
We are about to see a bit of a change, from marginally warm to
positively nippy. We just don't know what to put on in the morning.

So we've decided to offer you 20% off everything for a day and a bit.

There are jackets, jeans, jumpers, hoodys, skirts, cardigans and more.
Something for cloudy, something for sunny and definitely a few things
for rainy, wet and windy.

So now you can be prepared for whatever weather is coming.

website checkout, instore or down the phone if you call to place your order*

This Thursday the guys and girls from the 'Cycle Summit' team will be coming into the Bristol shop to tell us about their recent trip to the Alps.

The team of nine amateur adventurers and four support members set of from the north of France on a 600-mile cycle to Chamonix. There they spent seven days in the Alps challenging themselves to their limits against the altitude, summiting some of Western Europe's highest peaks...all to raise money for charity.

So, come and join us for a cuppa or a beer from 7pm-9pm. You can pick up a free ticket from the shop, or reserve one by giving us a call on 0117 929 8928 or e-mailing us at [email protected]...but be quick, numbers are limited and we haven't got many tickets to give away!

See you on Thursday!

We need a new person!

Early Christmas present

  • 15 October 2010

My dad has just given me this gem of a book. It's a 1973 book of 100 bike posters from around the world.
He saw it in the window of an antiques shop and was there first thing the next day to pick it up. It was a case of "I could wait till Christmas but I'm too excited to, so have it now."
I need to get him a "best dad" t shirt as this is now on my list of top possessions.
Can't wait to get them scanned and printed so I can get some in frames...

Cheers then Matt/45

Daylight Savings

We are enjoying some rather unseasonal warm weather in Cardigan Bay this week. So we are making the
most of the beautiful evening light before the clocks change. We've paddled the river while it's calm, skated shirtless in the beaming October sunshine and even got in a few last minute sea swims.

But before the dark gets darker quicker, we thought we'd make the sun shine a little longer and offer you a few savings on selected products. So here are some treats that should brighten the day, no matter how dark it gets.
