Scotland delivery times

  • Posted by ruben
  • 13 December 2010

Hello Scottish friends,

Because of impending snow, Royal Mail and Parcel force have only
given us a small time frame in which we can guarantee delivery of
orders to certain parts of Scotland in time for Christmas.

If you live in Scotland and need your package before the big day, you
will need to place your order before 12pm on Thursday 16th December
in order for us to guarantee it gets there in time.

Until then, please quote the code: SCOTS on the website checkout or
over the phone and we will give you free postage and make sure your order gets priority.

The postcode areas where we can guarantee delivery start with the letters:
KA, ML, EH, G, KY, FK, PA, DD, PH and AB

Unfortunately we can't guarantee pre-Christmas deliveries to the following
postcode areas: IV, KW, ZE and HS (Highlands and Islands), but we will
make sure your stuff gets to you eventually.

So, batten down the hatches folks and stay warm!

Checked shirt analysis

A short while back, Dan C and Dan B from Applied Web Analytics came down to Cardigan Bay to talk web stats.

Here we see myself, Nathan and Ade getting our heads around some dimensions and metrics during AWA's flash card game.

You don't need to wear a checked shirt to understand the internet, but we find that it helps.

Watch this…

Go and put the kettle on, make yourself a cup of tea and please watch this.

It has to be the most beautiful and moving surf video I've seen in a long time, maybe ever.

One of those glimpses into another world that makes you want to change your life, unless you're lucky enough to feel as passionate about what you do already.

Thanks to Lizzie on our Facebook page for linking me to this.

Going to see these guys tomorrow night in Cardiff International Arena.

Love this song.

What's been your favourite gig this year?

Steve Leard is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Bristol. He's a graduate of the Cardiff School of Art & Design 2007 (same as me), and currently works for award-winning design studio Staziker Jones, who are based in Cardiff.

He's a thoroughly nice chap and a very good friend of mine, which is why I want to share with you his new website.

His portfolio consists of a mix of illustration, typography, branding and web design. It features new work, including his illustration for the recent Ink Dot Exhibition (pictured above), which howies exhibited last year.

You can follow his twitter feed here and view his website here > LEARD

And if you like design blogs, he has one of those too > DesignYak

Great stuff mate.

Looks like the long hours of darkness wont be a problem at Strathpuffer, then.

Thanks to Tom at Carbon-Monkey for the loan of these Exposure lights.

Our lovely surf team rider Elsie Pinniger has sent us all an early Christmas present of some deliciuos home made muesli bars.

Yum yum we are going to put the kettle on and get stuck in.

Thanks Elsie.

If anyone is having trouble placing orders this evening, please bear with us. The volume of traffic we've had through the site this evening has slowed everything down a bit.

Put the kettle on and try again in a minute, or us a call in the morning and we'll help you out. 01239 614 122

Andrew Groves is a freelance illustrator based in London. His work is best described in his own words...

"With a particular interest in the natural world, I aim to invent characters that explore the grotesque beauty of it's many beasts and creatures and the folklore that surrounds them."

Below is a personal piece he's just finished that fits the mood everywhere in the UK at the moment (except in Cardigan). He has also designed a howies t-shirt that we'll be releasing soon so keep an eye out for it.

You can see more of his work here > IMAKETHINGS

Good work Andrew!
