Kate Sutton Exhibition

We are very proud to announce that for the next few weeks we will be hosting the work of Kate Sutton in our Staircase Gallery. We have a collection of both screened and digital prints, Christmas cards and Recipe books on display and for sale, perfect for those of you still with some xmas shopping to do.

Kate has collaborated with howies on numerous occasions, you may recall her 'tea, drink of champions' illustration and more recently her 'root veg stew' t shirt.

Help needed...

we have a very busy evening planned for next Thursday, 17th November and could do with a little extra help, if you are familiar with the shop and the brand, helpful, energetic, enthusiastic and have a few hours spare then pop in and say hello or drop us an email at carnabyst@howies.co.uk.

we look forward to hearing from you!

This November, howies Carnaby Street's Staircase Gallery features work from The Frootful Art Ensemble, including work from Millie Marotta (http://www.milliemarotta.co.uk/), Nick Radford (http://www.frootful.co.uk/) and Bobby Evans (http://store.telegramme.co.uk/)

"The Frootful Art Ensemble is the live 6-piece band fronted by Frootful. The live format includes Nick Radford (Frootful) on guitar; Adam Gibbons (Lack of Afro) on alto sax and percussion; Angeline Morrison (The Ambassadors of Sorrow) on vocals; plus double bass, drums and tenor sax / flute. Expect sharp suits, a knockout vocalist, and a swinging soul / jazz / R&B / ska set aimed squarely at the dancefloor."

Drop by the shop to see some lovely prints and Frootful tour posters, available throughout November :) .

Just got this from Ade and Co. down in London. The calm before the storm.

They are opening the doors right now and the sample sale will run until Sunday - so if you are in the area at all over the next few days, make sure you pop down there to see if anything tickles your fancy.

20% Off Night/Sample Sale

as the old saying goes, you wait ages for one bus and then two come along at once,  tomorrow night here at Carnaby Street it is our twice yearly 20% off evening in association with Grazia magazine and over at Brick Lane our London sample sale will also be taking place, so for those people not able to make it to both we have printed up some vouchers that Ade and the guys will have over at Brick Lane allowing you to use your 20% off in the shop until 5pm on Sunday (unfortunately not in conjunction with any other offers we may currently have running in store).

there's only a limited number vouchers so make sure you don't forget to ask for yours.

ps. you will need to get them signed on the back in order for them to be valid.

What a sunny week!

As the Beatles once said - "Here comes the sun....Little darling, it's been a long, cold lonely winter....it feels like years since it's been here"

howies HQ will be out the office tomorrow and on Monday as we'll be getting out and embracing the beautiful British bank holiday weather.

It should be a good one - camping trips, bike rides and dips in the sea are all being planned, Em has her new flipflops on ready for the beach and James has even got his white pasty legs out on show.

We'll be back on Tuesday morning though, so just drop us an email to info@howies.co.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

The Carnaby street store will be open over the bank holiday weekend though, Mark and the guys will be there 11-5pm tomorrow, normal hours saturday, and then 11-5pm again for sunday & monday.

If you're planning a trip to london then pop in and say hello (preferably with something chocolaty or cake-shaped) ...or give them a call on 0207 287 2345 to see if they can help at all.

Or, if you're lucky enough to be staying in our 'hood this weekend then the Cardigan shop will be open tomorrow (11-4pm), closed sunday, and then open 11-4pm on Monday. You can give them a call on 01239 623745.

If you are around Pembrokeshire then i recommend a trip to Whitesands beach (near St.Davids) - the photo above is a quick snapshot i took last bank holiday (i think) ....but enjoy yourselves whatever you get up to.

Oh, and Ps don't forget that we've got 20% off tops, polos & jumpers until tuesday too!

Grey Nights

Last Sunday I went to see a screening of Grey Nights, a short skate film with plenty of night skating around London. It coincided with the launch of Grey Magazine Issue 4 (http://greyskatemag.com/), a very good London-based skate magazine.

This is the magazine:

And this is the Grey Nights edit:

GREY NIGHTS from HOLD TIGHT LONDON on Vimeo.

The nights are getting warmer. Go skate.
