the howies store, london

Christmas. We’re (almost) calling it.

So the last weekend before Christmas has come and gone, but the snow has just come. And it shows no signs of going any time soon.

At howies, we are busy packing up all the orders that came in over the weekend and they will be sent down to the hub in Swansea this evening. From there, things are in the hands of the delivery network but we hope that you will all get your parcels by Christmas.

But from today we can't be sure that any more deliveries will get to you in time for Christmas, so please don't place any orders if you need your stuff for the big day. From tomorrow, we will not be shipping any more parcels until the middle of next week.

We'll be here until Friday, so if you have any worries about the whereabouts of an order, please drop us a line on 01239 614 122 and we'll be happy to help you.

If you still need some bits and pieces for your Christmas list, why not pop down to your nearest high street and shop local. The howies stores in Cardigan and London will be open up until Christmas Eve.

In other news, it's apparently a bad time to be a BBC reporter - as they have all been put outside in front of the most impressive bits of snowy chaos and not been allowed to come indoors all weekend. Because as we all know, when there's an unusual amount of snow, it's very important to film a cold person talking about it for hours. One guy seemed to be wearing another extra jacket every time I checked the news. Lets hope the weather clears a bit in time for Christmas so they can all get home and spend some time in front of a fire.

howies Vouchers

We've received a batch of howies vouchers, just in time for the Christmas period. The perfect gift for the howies fan. Jess and Laura could hardly contain their joy.

Voucher cards available in £10, £25 and £50 at the Carnaby St store. Can be used instore or online!

You can also buy these online, either the postal versions here or an email version here.

‘French’ Exhibition

to go along with the exhibition we have a few very limited, hand numbered screen prints available in the shop, unfortunately we aren't going to be posting them out, you will have to come and collect them yourselves.

There can be no more denying it, Christmas is upon us. Here at the Carnaby St store we are stocking the Surfers Against Sewage Chrsitmas Cards, illustrated by Kate Sutton (www.katesutton.co.uk).

"Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is a UK-based non profit-making organisation campaigning for clean, safe recreational waters, free from sewage effluents, toxic chemicals, marine litter and nuclear waste. SAS also campaign to protect surf spots from environmental damage, negative impacts on wave quality and to safeguard recreational water users right of access." - www.sas.org.uk

The cards help raise money for SAS's cause, and on the back of each card there is some information on marine pollution and how to support SAS further.

A pack of 8 for £3.50!

Shop West End

Ade and Co. are unloading the van at the sample sale in London right now. Hanging tops on rails, neatly folding legwear, getting ready for the traditional sample sale rush when they open the doors at 4pm this evening.

Ade's pop-up sample sales are always popular, but this one promises to be extra special, as the haul of stock that we've pulled together from the back warehouse this time is one of the best ever.

There's piles of merino base layers, midlayers & fleeces, warm jumpers, denim jeans (including some selvedge), canvas trousers, skirts, dresses, wax jackets, down jackets, cotton jackets, loads of t-shirts including some really rare and sought after designs from the back catalogue. All at unbeatable prices.

And of course, there's also the usual pile of slightly dodgy stuff in need of a bit of TLC with a stitch here or a new button there.

Unlike previous sample sales, there will be no top-up delivery over the weekend, so if you want the cream of the crop you will have to be down there early. Once it's gone, it's gone.

The howies sale is being held at the Old Truman Brewery on London's Brick Lane.
They've set up shop nearby the Big Chill Bar.

There's plenty of other stuff going on around Brick Lane with loads of places to eat, some great street art and plenty of interesting and quirky shops to browse through.

Even if you weren't planning to be in the area, it will be well worth the trip.

Opening times:

Thursday (25th Nov): 4pm til 8pm
Friday: 11am til 7pm
Saturday: 11am til 6pm
Sunday: 11am til 5pm

disclaimer - they're as cosy as wearing your pyjamas underneath your strides, be warned, you won't want to take them off.

Bit of weather on the way we hear

"Never judge the day on the morning".

positively nippy. We just don't know what to put on in the morning.

So we've decided to offer you 20% off everything for a day and a bit.

There are jackets, jeans, jumpers, hoodys, skirts, cardigans and more.
Something for cloudy, something for sunny and definitely a few things
for rainy, wet and windy.

Daylight Savings

We are enjoying some rather unseasonal warm weather in Cardigan Bay this week. So we are making the
most of the beautiful evening light before the clocks change. We've paddled the river while it's calm, skated shirtless in the beaming October sunshine and even got in a few last minute sea swims.

But before the dark gets darker quicker, we thought we'd make the sun shine a little longer and offer you a few savings on selected products. So here are some treats that should brighten the day, no matter how dark it gets.
