London: Wee DO talk – SAS

Just a quick reminder that Surfers Against Sewage are going to be giving a talk at the Carnaby Street shop on Wednesday night starting at 7.30pm.  We are restricted in numbers and have already given away most of the tickets.  However, we do still have a couple available.  It is a free event - just give us a ring (0207 287 2345) and we will reserve a ticket for you.

We will have beer (supplied by Pitfield Brewery) and softdrinks.  It is the first of our London Wee DO talks - we hope that they will become a regular event for the London community (and beyond via video podcasts), so come along and join us.

Customer Photos

I've had a couple of cool customer photos come in over the last few days...

Check this shot from Dave Turner out...

Hi guys!

I have been a customer of howies for many years, since 1999 when I bought my first T at the Birmingham Show!

I was going through your site this evening having just got back from an Epic bike trip across Australia unsupported through 2,600km of outback and I couldn't believe it when I saw your My Space t-shirt, I took this shot two weeks ago on the legendary Birdsville Track and I just had to send it to you!  Spot the similarity?

I love this shot, it has everything, the bikes, the Southern Cross stars above, the tent and the promise of a hot meal after a hard days riding in the outback.  My site is www.mushypea.net and I have a blog if interested, just click on blog!  There has always been a link to howies for as long as I've had my site - since 1999!

Take care and loving your work!

And here's another shot from Tim Freeman who just got back from his honeymoon in Patagonia -

And just one more... From Laura and friends, taken on a mountain biking trip near Watendlath, Borrowdale -

Thanks, guys!

On Wednesday 20th May Surfers Against Sewage will be giving a talk in our Carnaby Street (London) store on their work to clean up the waters around Britian.

Tickets are free and there will be beer and snacks available throughout the evening.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the talk should get underway at 7.45pm.

We only have a limited number of tickets available.  Should you be interested just pop into the store, or give us a ring, and we will put your name down and give you a ticket - simple as that.

The talks will also be filmed and put onto our DO Lectures website - so make sure you brush your hair and shine your shoes.

An interesting talk, maybe a short film, sparkling beverages, and tasty snacks.  All without having to pay one of those outrageous booking fees.  There hasn't been a deal like this since Woolies bit the dust.

It's been going off this Easter. We've had a lot of sunshine and done a lot of riding.

The top gif is of me and the picture is our very own flow rider Jack Moore.

in 2001 howies did their first catalogue. it was taken at some trails with some dirt jumpers.

one of the riders was Joe Anchor who would always go bigger.

At the Manchester sample sale I met Tim Royal from whitenosugarproductions.com who caught Joe on some super8 in the same year with some other riders we went on to sponsor, and some other riders who became big names.

This was filmed before they were really good and is a nice bit of footage showing great riders just riding summery trails.

Joe Anchor, Jim Davage, Chris Smith, Steve Geall and Olly and Grant Feilder.
