Steve Leard is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Bristol. He's a graduate of the Cardiff School of Art & Design 2007 (same as me), and currently works for award-winning design studio Staziker Jones, who are based in Cardiff.
He's a thoroughly nice chap and a very good friend of mine, which is why I want to share with you his new website.
His portfolio consists of a mix of illustration, typography, branding and web design. It features new work, including his illustration for the recent Ink Dot Exhibition (pictured above), which howies exhibited last year.
You can follow his twitter feed here and view his website here > LEARD
And if you like design blogs, he has one of those too > DesignYak
Great stuff mate.
On Wednesday the guys from UWE's Graphic Design department transformed our upstairs space into an exhibition space to showcase their 3rd years' publication and design blog.
Last night they had a private viewing, which went down a storm. Zero Degrees provided them with a few locally brewed kegs of ale, the sun was shining and everyone had a smile on their face. An excellent vibe created by some really nice people, so a big thanks to everyone who came along.
Because the exhibit has been so popular again today, they've decided to keep it up until end of day tomorrow. So if you missed it, then you've got a second chance!
On the 4th and 5th of June we are very fortunate to be hosting the launch of a publication and design blog created by 3rd year Graphic Design students at the University of West England.
They will be transforming our (currently) vacant first floor into a showcase demonstrating the work and experiences of the people on the course.
UWE has launched the careers of some of the rising stars of the design world including Teri from our very own creative team and at least a couple of the guys whose designs are live on teepay.com right now.
Whether you are a budding designer, prospective student or just plain interested in seeing some great local design-work, we're sure that there will be something of interest to you.
So come on down this Thursday and Friday to have a peruse and chat with the creators over the usual lashings of hot tea!
