Wet weather jeans

If you’re anything like us, you live in your jeans. You wear them everywhere for anything and everything – work, going to the pub, digging the garden, skating or riding, even stuff they weren’t really designed for, like weddings and special occasions. They become comfortable and familiar. In fact, the longer you own them the more you grow to love them.So we thought seeing as we love them so much why not try to build some extra functionality into them, make them even more useful. We know that there are some situations where jeans just aren’t up to the job – and I’m not talking about being the bottom half of your best-man suit – I mean rain. They are just useless in wet weather. If you’ve ever been caught out in even the lightest of showers in them you’ll know the agony of getting soaked through to the skin, not to mention the length of time they take to dry out. They get all heavy and cold too. Yuk.We wanted to solve that issue. So we’ve made jeans using the same clever Epic cotton fabric that we use in our rainproof Towpath trousers, but this time we’ve woven it into a traditional blue denim.Epic cotton is truly amazing. It’s rainproof, windproof and even breathable, thanks to an encapsulation process that treats each individual fibre. And despite looking and feeling like regular cotton, Epic behaves just like a performance fabric, meaning it’s comfortable to wear but also functions when you need it to. It also keeps its water resistance when put through the wash. Handy when we think how often we’ll be wearing them. These jeans will provide rain protection in all but the most severe conditions, meaning you won’t have to put your oil skinson next time you nip to the shops. So what we’ve done is given ourselves yet another excuse to never take them off.
