It started with a duvet.

Back in 2008, Louise; our garment technologist (and chief foul language expert) was visiting one of those boring trade shows somewhere in the world, where she happened across some amazing vintage-style duvets, which had been wadded with wool, instead ofthe usual feather or polyester offerings you find these days. They felt incredible, so she thought it might be a smart idea to make a winter jacket the same way.

Louise spent the next five years searching, experimenting and testing all kinds of wool filling, to find that perfect wadding material. Then, working with the Dawson Wool Company in Bradford UK, she found it. They’d managed to produce a filling that didn’t sag, shrink or stink.

And when she put it together with quite possibly the best outer fabric money can buy - Ventile® Cotton, she managed to make something as brilliant as those old duvets. Here’s to Louise. And old duvets.
